Car history: |
1968 corvette convertible L-71!! 427/435 tripower, 4spd project car. This car was purchased in New Mexico and had been there all its life. I am the 4th owner and have past owner information. I had contact with the 2nd owner who still has the build-sheet (can be obtained from him, he was in process of moving at time and needed to locate it) and told me lots of information about the car's past. The car has been completely disassembled and ready for restoration. It sits on top of a rolling dolly for easy access and was mounted with original frame locations to ensure proper fit and handling. Upon disassembly, most suspension parts were media blasted and all the paint splashes and markings were photographed and documented! The frame is rust free and is in an epoxy primer. Yes the VIN is present and matches the car. All the components are bagged and litterally tagged for reference. This was done down to each nut and bolt that was removed. The motor is not the original block. There is no transmission. The original intake and carbs, T.I. ignition, FA code rear end, 296 distributor with K66, screw in side yokes, sway bars, 4spd shifter and linkage , and 6500 redline tach and speedo are present with the car. There will be a set of 842 Alluminum heads that go with the car. Great for trading for 840's or use them for a L-89 conversion. The conv top frame is in excellent shape and needs a top. The hard top with the car is in great shape and needs paint or a vinyl top applied. the headliner is in good shape also. the original astro-vent glass is in place. There is 5 ralley wheels with the car. Not only being assured by the previous owners, but taking the car apart myself knowing the correct indentifications were in place and never tampered with was great. This even includes the single fuel line seen in one of the pics. Remember, this is a project car that is completely disassembled. It will be easy to re-assesmble because of parts identification and labeling, but is worthy of a true correct NCRS restoration. (that's why i took pics of the paint splashes and markings, etc.. ). Build date - Oct 19, 1967. Paint - 976 Lemans Blue. Trim - std Black. Block - 3916321 I-13-67 4 bolt .060 needs rebuilt and small repair on top of one cylinder. Heads - 3919842 L-89 Alluminum heads, Not correct for car but great trading stock for 840's. need rebuilt. Crank - #6223 steel 427 crankshaft std-std. Intake - original 3919852 very nice! Carbs - original/rebuilt? center #4055 date 784, outer # 3659 dates 782, 794. Distributor - original L-71 equiped K-66 1111296, tag is present! Rear end - original FA code 3.70 Heavy Duty Positraction. 91,000 miles. November 28, 2008 |
